Ed Hardy And Christian Audigier – The True Evolution Of Fashion

July 6th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Clothing

One of the greatest unions of styling happened in 2004 when Christian Audigier met up with Ed Hardy. Hardy is known as being probably the greatest tattooists ever to have lived. He has incorporated a variety of styles, and is best known for his trademark fusion of Japanese and American aesthetics which has earned him the nickname “the godfather of modern tattoo”.

Audigier himself has been a designer for several sportswear brands including Naf-Naf, Kookai, Affliction, and Von Dutch. He’s best known for being a fantastic jeans designer and for being superbly connected in Hollywood. He is basically known for having brought the best of European casual style to the USA.

In 2004 Hardy and Audigier produced the new Brand “Ed Hardy clothing”. They produce high fashion street-wear and swimwear, but are best known for the intricate and spectacularly designed jeans for both men and women. In all these clothes, there is a huge amount of the type of artwork for which Ed Hardy has been best known. Snakes, hearts, gang emblems all jump out at you from the clothes. In fact, they have become so successful that Ed Hardy himself has actually retired from tattooing himself to focus on the business.

For people who are interested in this superb juxtaposition of styles, there is actually an Ed Hardy sale on their website at the moment. There are some great offers on at the moment, and it is definitely worth checking out as soon as you get a moment.

Affliction – Turning The Fashion World On Its Head

July 6th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Clothing, Fashion

There’s something about Affliction clothing that just makes you adore them. It might have something to do with the religious imagery in their designs, or perhaps their credibility as a designer, but for me it’s the total lack of pretension in their clothes that I adore.

Affliction is a relatively recent entrant to the fashion scene, and I think this newness has something to do with it. Many of the “traditional” fashion houses have been around for so long that they start to believe their own hype. They think they’re special, and that they can turn out boring clothes with simply their logo on and make a masterpiece. And they fail, badly. If you want to spend a lot of money, you want something that at least has a bit of time and effort put into it. The big companies though can’t be bothered

Affliction aren’t like that. They’ve only been going since 2005, but even so are managing to pull in profits of over $7 million a year. Affliction shirts are perfectly made, as are the rest of their range, with heavy religious imagery interwoven with more down to earth designs. They have an eye for detail that you won’t find anywhere else, and the Affliction sale currently on means that their clothes are a lot better value for money than everyone else around.

Of course they’re no strangers to controversy, but let’s be honest, who among us doesn’t like to be a little bit bad once in a while? Affliction, and their sister brand, Sinful, are quite simply the edgiest, the hottest, and the most brilliant designers out there. I wouldn’t be seen in anything else.

Abercrombie And Fitch – The Greatest Success Story Of The Past 20 Years?

July 6th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Clothing

One of the great success stories of the last twenty years has been Abercrombie and Fitch. The company has actually been in existence for well over a hundred years. The company was originally founded to sell clothing and goods for hiking and sports in the nineteenth century, and in an early example of product placement, was worn by several writers including Steinbeck, and even a few U.S. Presidents. However, it’s really only been since the the late eighties when the company was bought out by the Limited and re-invented that Abercrombie and Fitch really developed to the level that it is today that you can’t walk down a street without seeing at least two or three people dressed in Abercrombie hoodies. Far more than the great high fashion houses of France and Italy, Abercrombie and Fitch have become known as the great label worn by the under 30s.

The company itself has been involved in controversy several times in the last decade, but has recently posted profits in excess of $1.5 billion, and business is booming. Abercrombie clothing is stylish, modern, and seen as associated with an outdoor or sporty lifestyle.

Abercrombie has also expanded hugely outside of just the US, and maintains a European headquarters in Italy, and stores in the UK, France, Italy, Canada, and Germany. Its success in Europe and North America is really a lesson to the more traditional fashion houses in how to market yourself, and Abercrombie and Fitch are extremely close to global dominance, if they’re not there already.

What’s The Next Step For Replica Watches

July 6th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Jewelry

It’s amazing how far replica and reproduction items have come in the last five years. I’m not talking here about the stuff you see on your local market stall, but rather the professional sites you find on the internet that specialise in manufacturing high quality goods that are identical to the original in material and method of manufacture. That’s why you can now get a pair of mens True Religion jeans for a third of the price of the originals, yet so alike that less than 0.1% of the population would be able to tell the difference.

The latest branch of reproduction items to be available is Tiffany jewelry. Tiffany has become synonymous with the last words in opulence, indulgence, and beauty. We all covet at least one piece of Tiffany jewelry, and most of us want far more than one. However, to maintain that last word in opulence, Tiffany price accordingly, putting their items well beyond the range of most of us.

The latest range of Tiffany replica jewelry is made from the same materials, and is made to the same exquisite standards as the real Tiffany jewelry, but has been priced at a level that we all can reach for. Why is this? Well, partly it’s due to the lower overheads due to lower budgets on marketing and floor space, but mostly it’s because the Tiffany replica jewelry is not deliberately priced to maintain exclusivity. In fact the quality is so high that we would be fools to buy the originals.

Why Nike Are Still Top After All These Years

July 6th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Fashion, Footwear

It’s fair to say that Nike Air Jordan shoes have been one of the best selling shoes of all time.Nike first released their Air Jordans for sale in 1984, and it all took off from there. The shoe did almost more than anything else to change Nike’s image away from the “white man’s jogging shoe” and cement their reputation as being one of the top shoes for basketball, and leisurewear in general. They also changed the traditional color of basketball shoes from white to whatever color you want. This came originally at a cost to Nike, as the NBA banned the Air Jordan (and the Nike Dunk) from its matches, and fined any player wearing them $5000 per match. Michael Jordan was notable in his flouting of the rules, and his fines were met by Nike, who, it must be said, probably recouped far more back in shoe sales. Nike never looked backed after that, and the shoe today is in its 18th incarnation, with sales running into the millions (not bad at $190+ per pair). Nike as a brand rose solely on the shoes and escaped the financial troubles they had in the early 80s due to its image change from the Air Jordan shoes.

Today, even after 25 years, they’re still one of the best selling shoes around. Very few of the people wearing Air Jordan shoes actually play basketball, but it gives the aspiration to people, and the feel that they can buy in to the whole culture helped by Nike.
